This just sent a shiver down my spine: Brittany Murphy died this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived. She was only 32.

I interrupt your regularly scheduled humor to report this very sad news: Paul Newman, the legendary actor whose magnetic blue eyes, good-humored charm and advocacy of worthy causes made him one of the most renowned — and sexy — icons, died of cancer yeserday at his home in Westport, Connecticut. He was 83.
The Oscar winner is survived by his wife of 50 years — or, 350 in Hollywood years — Joanne Woodward; five children; his Newman organic soy crisps to which Candy is addicted; and fantastic quotes such as:
“You can’t be as old as I am without waking up with a surprised look on your face every morning: ‘Holy Christ, whaddya know — I’m still around!’ It’s absolutely amazing that I survived all the booze and smoking and the cars and the career.”
R.I.P. Butch Cassidy.
