The tabloids were, um, really on top of this story — the baby was born more than a week ago, on Sept. 15, in Los Angeles.

Thankfully, there is nary a “Mc” to be found in the baby’s name, which is Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery.  Sadly, however, the girl will have a tough time capitalizing on her name, as “Stella Luna” is already the name of a shoe collection, restaurant and book.

And, really, isn’t that what matters when choosing a baby name?  Being able to parlay it into cash a brand?  I mean, clearly that’s what my parents had in mind with “Candy Kirby” –

PORN EMPIRE!

Let’s hope her taste in footwear is a recessive gene.

…Right? *AHEM*  Okay, moving on…

There are a few blessed women who actually look BETTER when they’re smuggling a melon, and it appears Ellen Pompeo may be one of those lucky few.   Here she is leaving the gym and, I must say, baby does the body good.

The Girls are most certainly reaping the benefits of, um, nature’s bounty.

But getting back to my original point:  It’s GOT to be better than “in the pudding club.”  I mean, really — who wants their stomach likened to a bowl of lumpy tapioca?

I promise I’ll try to avoid any more “Mc” jokes…

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, 39, and her music producer husband, Chris Ivery, 41, are expecting their first child together.  Surprisingly, they avoided using the favorite celebrity phrase “over the moon” in their statement and simply said they are “thrilled” about the news.

Just last year, Ellen told Allure:

“We enjoy our life so much.  We go to Europe and sleep in.  So when I have the baby, I won’t feel like we’ve missed any fun, reckless times together, like staying up all night drinking champagne and having sex until five in the morning and not having to get up until two in the afternoon.  But I’ve got to get on it, because the clock is ticking.”

Don’t worry; you’ll still get up at two o’clock, Ellen!  Only it will be two in the morning.
