Because Twitter is the new press release, Neil Patrick Harris today Tweeted that he and his longtime partner, David Burtka, are becoming daddies:
“So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…” (Bonus points for not declaring they are “OVER THE MOON!”)
Somewhere, Barney Stinson is shaking his head and sighing, “Dude! Why are you messing up a good thing with KIDS?”
NPH and Burtka, a chef and actor who has guest-starred on How I Met Your Mother, have been together for roughly six years. The next time we see a picture of them…? They’re going to be raising two cans of Red Bull. TWINS! Wow. Best of luck, boys.
You, you, you oughta know: Alanis Morissette is pregnant
Aug 11, 2010 | Filed Under: Celebrities,Pop Culture | Tags: Doppelgänger Alert
Why, I had no idea she and James Van Der Beek were even dating! Congrats, you crazy kids –
Wait a second. My cats trusty work staff inform me that is NOT Dawson Leery but, in fact, a rapper called Souleye (real name: Mario Treadway). Who happens to be Alanis’ husband.
My bad.
“We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other,” Alanis announced — where else? — on her Twitter page.
When I shared this news with Mr. Candy, he got all excited: “Oooohhhh, I hope she has a terrible time with morning sickness and gets inspired to write angry, angst-y music again!”
YES!
Er, I mean… we wish you a beautiful, stress-free pregnancy, Alanis. Really! *Ahem*
This old dad of mine: Rod Stewart to become father again at 66
Aug 10, 2010 | Filed Under: Celebrities,Pop Culture | Tags: Old Fertile Dudes
Rod Stewart clearly subscribes to the belief of being “Forever Young,” because — age be damned — the 65-year-old is expecting a second child with his 39-year-old wife, Penny Lancaster, next year.
This will be Rod’s eighth child, with four different baby mamas. Spread that seed, Rod! (What a fitting name for him, eh?)
“We were thrilled and delighted to be able to tell Alastair that he was going to be the big brother to a little baby, expected just before Mummy’s 40th Birthday,” the couple said in a statement.
“Not to mention daddy and baby can share diapers and pureed food, while Mom pushes them around in a double-stroller. Just think of all the cost-saving benefits!” they enthused.
