Two-year-old Harper and her mom visit David Beckham in Paris to help him celebrate his 38th birthday.
Coincidentally, a squeeze and kiss from David Beckham is on MY birthday wish list.
Rachel Zoe and husband Rodger Berman offer son Skyler a makeshift swing while leaving lunch in L.A.
Probably for the best he doesn’t scuff his $500 toddler boots, anyway.
Some moms are grumbling that Rachel Zoe’s choice of footwear isn’t “kid-friendly.” However, here are some reasons why we think they make the PERFECT Mom Shoes:
- Can threaten to impale overly aggressive paparazzi with them
- Gives her an excuse for making her husband chase after the kid: “Sorry, Rodg, I am lit-e-rally stuck here in these six-inch heels…”
- Makes her tall enough to reach the toys behind the other toys on the top shelf
- Can let her son wear them to circumvent the “You Must Be THIS Tall” ride requirements at Disneyland
- Able to use heels as emergency mom tool: to poke new holes in clogged sippy cups; to screw off annoying backs of toys to access batteries; to chip crusted milk off kitchen counters; etc.
My regular followers know I have my, um, “quirky” obsessions — baby hats, anyone? — one of which is trying to copy cool celebrity looks for less. You see, I don’t have the vision to pull my own ensembles together, so I let celebrities and their stylists lay the groundwork for me, then hunt down their pieces on the Internet when the kids are sleeping at night and I should be sleeping, too. But I’m so excited to have some free time to myself that I do inane things like check out TMZ to see what Gwen Stefani wore to the park today instead of nourishing my exhausted body with sleep.
Makes total sense, right?
So while I’m at it, I figured I might as well share some of my findings with you…and rationalize all this time analyzing celebrity fashion as WORK. Up this week: Stylist Rachel Zoe in one of her go-to ensembles. I selected a more park-friendly heel height for the boots, as well as a more subtle faux fur accessory (not all of us would look so skinny with THREE layered tops) not pictured in the top graphic.
Somewhere Suri Cruise is shaking in her high heels, because another high-profile tot is set to knock her off her fashion throne: Skyler Morrison Berman, four-month-old son of celebrity stylist and reality star Rachel Zoe, who gave ABC’s Juju Chang a tour of Skyler’s massive closet for tonight’s “Primetime Nightline: Celebrity Secrets” special “Mommywood.” The closet, which can be admired/despised/envied/judged in the video above, includes items such as countless pairs of shoes from designers such as Ralph Lauren and Tods! And custom-sewn Missoni sweaters! And a Gucci baby bomber jacket! Ugh. It is utterly obscene… that Margherita Missoni obviously forgot to make custom sweaters for my six-week-old son Drew. Hmpf. Maybe they got lost in the mail.
Seriously, people. I need to get back to my pre-toddler weight of 15 pounds so I can get my own mini-Gucci bomber jacket. Just 100 pounds to go! (*AHEM* What…? Stop looking at me like that!)
Hmmmm. I think Rachel Zoe wants us to notice something. But I can’t put my finger on it…
I have to be honest: If my husband bought me a 10-carat cushion-cut diamond ring designed by jeweler Neil Lane…? I’d probably walk around like that, too.
Yeah, so, when Rachel gave birth to son Skyler Morrison seven weeks ago, her husband Rodger Berman wanted to get her a little something special to celebrate. Actually, make that a whole LOT of something.
“Rodger wanted to surprise Rachel with something romantic — and huge,” says Lane of the sparkler, adorned with smaller diamonds in a platinum setting. “I knew she’s wanted a cushion cut forever. It was their first baby and she’s been working so hard that Rodger wanted to do something very special. Rachel was thrilled and hasn’t taken it off since!”
There is a huge debate brewing about whether a “push present” is appropriate, with many moms crying out that the baby should be present enough. Which, yes, it should be. Of course. But if I could also carry my precious gift of a baby around with a monster diamond on my hand? Um, YES PLEASE. Mama likes her rocks!
“Maybe it’s just my fuzzy newborn vision, but… do my parents look YELLOW to you?”
Celebrity stylist-turned-reality star-turned QVC maven (I may or may not have bought one of her sequined berets) Rachel Zoe and husband Rodger Berman have welcomed their first child, a young lad named Skyler Morrison Berman. He weighed in at 6 lbs., 12 oz. and is 20 inches long.
I know, right? SKYLER. As if it’s just a coincidence that she named her son after my daughter. Just a little too obvious in her copycat ways, if you ask me. But, in the interest of their happy moment, we’ll pretend it is indeed just a coincidence…
“Mom and Dad ‘LITERALLY’ could not be happier or more in love with their son!” the couple said in a statement.
For those of you who aren’t fluent in “Zoeisms,” which I sadly am, the Rachel Zoe clan LITERALLY says “literally” every other word. Literally.
Rachel, 39, later Tweeted, “Thank you all so much for your love! [Rodger] and I couldn’t be happier with little Skyler Morrison in our arms … he is everything.”
Congratulations to the Zoe-Berman crew! If Skyler follows in his dad’s fashion footsteps, I fully expect him to be wrapped in scarves and terrycloth robes at all times.
