Christina Applegate is a New Mama

Christina Applegate — who I will always adore for her role as Veronica Corningstone in Anchorman:  The Legend of Ron Burgundy (“Ron, there are literally thousands of men that I should be with instead, but I’m 72 percent sure that I love you”) — is the brand spankin’ new mom of a baby girl.

“Actress Christina Applegate and fiancé, musician Martyn LeNoble, welcomed daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 in Los Angeles,” her spokesperson said in a statement. “Mother and daughter are doing great.”

Christina, 39, and Martyn, 41, who is the bassist and founding member of Porno for Pyros, have been dating for nearly three years and became engaged last Valentine’s Day.  Awwww.  The pregnancy was announced in July.

Congrats to the happy family!

P.S.  Hey!  Psssst… Christina and Martyn!  Don’t forget to pass on a very important life lesson to Miss Sadie, one that I learned from Veronica Corningstone and plan to share with my daughter one day: “Jazz flute is for little fairy boys.”
