Oprah Winfrey’s Next Chapter: A Nighttime Talk Show, World Domination

Oprah Winfrey announced today that she will buy several small Asian countries in her quest to take over the world… no!  I kid!  That announcement isn’t expected to happen for a few weeks.  She does, however, have her own network, and has announced she will host an evening show on it.  The aptly named “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” an hour-long show, will probably debut late next year.

Oprah’s new show, which could air as many as two or three times a week, will take Oprah out of the studio setting that has been her home for nearly 25 years and follow her around the globe for conversations in places such as Egypt and China.

Seriously, it really would be cooler if she bought the countries, but whatever.

“I’m going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me” around the world, Oprah said in an interview.

Other shows in the OWN lineup include Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind, which already has Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am and Oscar-winning director James Cameron on deck, Gayle King Live! and Why Not? with Shania Twain.

Gayle King got her own show…?  What a shocker!

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
