Only in Los Angeles: Video Produced by Parents – Starring Megan Fox – Used to Protest School Budget Cuts

In most neighborhoods, parents fight school budget cuts with protest marches and/or op-eds in the local newspaper.  But not in my ‘hood…oh, no!

The parents at nearby Wonderland Avenue Elementary (in the Hollywood Hills) were understandably irate about the proposed education cuts from the state budget.  So the school’s PTA president came up with the idea of creating a video, and one parent suggested they ask fellow parent Brian Austin Green (yes, David Silver from the original “Beverly Hills, 90210” — or, as he’s known these days, “that lucky bastard who dates Megan Fox”) to star in it.  Brian, whose son attends the school, agreed, and the lucky bastard also got Megan to costar in it.

Well, if there’s ANYTHING that would get Governor Schwarzenegger’s attention, that would be it.

The video, titled “Hot for Teachers” (again, Arnold’s interest is bound to be piqued), went live on Will Farrell’s Funny or Die site.

In terms of Megan’s comedic chops… let’s just say I wouldn’t necessarily go with “funny.”  But I’m sure she is very popular at the school’s fund-raising car washes. (Somewhere, Mr. Candy is lamenting that Skye isn’t school-age yet.)

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
