Best Laid Christmas Plans…
The East Coast snowstorm forced us to delay our travel plans, so we’re now spending Christmas Day in Los Angeles instead of shuttling between our families in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Despite my initial disappointment — I’d bought Miss Skye’s Christmas dress with the express purpose of eliciting “ooohhh”s and “aaahhhs”s from as many aunts, cousins and grandparents as possible — I’m secretly thrilled Santa will be swinging by OUR house for Skye’s first Christmas. Of course, by the time Santa gets to L.A., he’s had so much of Blitzen’s “special eggnog” that he’s likely to drop a gift or two — so I’ve picked up a few back-up gifts in case the old guy screws up. I can’t wait to wrap Skye’s presents and put them under the tree…and then, um, pick up the presents and unwrap them for her. What an exciting time for the baby, I’m sure! So much so, that she’ll barely be able to refrain from eating the wrapping paper.
