Katie Holmes LOVES It When Tom Critiques Her Outfits

In this month’s Elle magazine, they profile “women in Hollywood,” including Oscar nominee Julianne Moore, Golden Globes nominee Emily Blunt and Oscar winner Renee Zellweger.  So which deserving lady do they choose to put on the coveted cover?

Why, Kat(i)e Holmes, of course. 

Elle staffers must have been dazzled by her Oscar-worthy performance in Mad Money, with compelling dialogue such as, “I’m going to have to buy some boring underwear!”

Kat(i)e, who does look lovely on the cover, talks about hubby Jesus Cruise in the interview, saying that he likes to give his two cents’ about her wardrobe choices:

“He usually likes everything, but sometimes I’ll walk out and he’ll say, ‘I think that dress might be wearing you. You don’t need that,'” she says.

“Tom has great taste,” Kat(i)e gushes.

So she likes it when he tells her that her outfit looks like crap?  Sounds exactly like my marriage!  Only instead of purring “That dress is wearing you” like a Tim Gunn wannabe, Mr. Candy says, “You look fine.”  And I huff, “You’re not even looking!”  And Mr. Candy replies, “Well, I’m sure you look fine.”  Then I roll my eyes and we head out.

Yep, pretty much parallel lives.

Besides, who cares what Jesus Cruise thinks — it’s all about SURI!  She’s the one who should be dispensing style pointers in that household, not the man who wore lifts during a fashion season that was all about flats.  Geesh.
