Cuddle with the Stuffed Swine Flu Toy

Because teddy bears are SO 2008, The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention Museum in Atlanta is now selling something even MORE adorable:  a stuffed swine flu virus!  Awwww.

I mean, really.  What could be cuter than a flu with the potential to kill as many as 90,000 Americans this fall?

Created by doll manufacturer GIANTmicrobes, the H1N1 virus pink toy is, according to the company, a great learning tool:

“[The] stuffed animals look like tiny microbes — only a million times actual size! They’re humorous, educational, and fun!” claims the company’s Web site.

But wait…!  The Food and Farming Canada blog does NOT have swine flu toy fever (see what I did there?), writing that:

There’s always someone looking to make a buck off someone else’s misfortune.  But in this case, I didn’t think it would be the US Center for Disease Control (CDC).

I would be all over this toy, but nothing could be cuter than my Gonorrhea doll.   Oh, how I love snuggling with The Clap at night!

P.S. — Is Señor Swine Flu watching me? It’s like he can’t take his eye off me!  *GULP*

A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines.
