How Billionaires Do Baby Showers

As you can imagine, I come across a number of oddities in my daily search for entertaining stories — however, this one really takes the (baby shower) cake.  This story may be a few months old, but worth sharing nonetheless…

Google co-founder Larry Page threw a baby shower for fellow co-founder Sergey Brin and his wife Anne Wojcicki earlier this year.  With all of their billions, can you guess the theme of the shower?  Perhaps “Baby’s Got Bucks.”  Or “Google That Baby Name…”?

Nope.  It was “A Diaper Fetish Celebration!”

The classy guys rented out a San Francisco warehouse and had a strict dress code:  baby clothes.  Guests wore adult diapers, footie pajamas, pacifiers and other infantile get-ups.  How… sweet.

Hopefully, the diapers didn’t leak at the same rate that Google has been leaking money with YouTube.  Now THAT would have been a mess.

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
