New Gadget Helps Parents TWS (Text While Strollering)

Dec 9, 2009 | Filed Under: In the News | Tags:

Some parents are up in arms about a new doodad called Texthook, which allows multi-tasking parents to strap a cell phone to the bar of their stroller so they can text and e-mail without, you know, letting go of the stroller.

The company that makes them said about 100 of the $30 devices have been bought since they went on sale last week.

Of course, some parents are irate:

“It is a stupid idea,” said Aniya Wolanska, 35, pushing her infant daughter in New York City.

“Too many people spend too much time texting. It’s crazy. You should watch your kid. Not your phone.”

Meanwhile, one NY Daily News blog commenter was so distraught about the new product, that s/he forgot to use sentence case:

“keep texting and push your child right in front of oncoming traffic.”

I’m not going to lie:  I do push-and-text during our daily walks to Starbucks.  Hey!  It’s the only time I get decent cell phone coverage.  And I’ve only pushed Skylar into oncoming traffic twice!  So there.
