MTV Plans “16 and Pregnant” Reality Show

"Don't worry, baby. By the time you're older, maybe MTV will have returned to playing actual music videos."
Also known as “Juno Comes to the Small Screen.”
When I was 16, my biggest concern was whether one can of AquaNet was sufficient to hold up my bangs for an entire school day. However, MTV plans to chronicle teenagers with slightly bigger problems, such as how to juggle doing Trig homework with breastfeeding their baby.
Some people are grumbling that such programming glamorizes teenage pregnancy, while others commend it for shedding light on the not-so-fun reality of having a baby at a young age:
“Given that the teen birth rate is on the rise for the first time in a generation, MTV’s ‘16 & Pregnant’ is extremely timely,” added Sarah Brown, chief executive officer of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. “The show provides an honest portrayal of the challenges of too-early pregnancy and parenthood. The stories in ‘16 & Pregnant’ are full of hope, heartbreak, and real-life consequences and should be a must viewing for teens nationwide.”
I know what you’re wondering… and, NO, one can was not sufficient. Definitely a two-can job! (Sorry, Ozone. Hair trumps environment. With Al Gore being the obvious exception.)

Maybe they can get Jamie Lynn Spears to be in it, unless she can no longer pass for a teenager.

What is this crap? Do people think that maybe since we have shows like this and movies like “Juno” is perhaps why we have a rise in teen pregnancies? You know some dumb girls are gonna get pregnant just to be on the show. People wanna be on TV.
