Ugly Betty’s Ana Ortiz Gets Unexpected Pregnancy Gift: Psychic Powers
Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz — who’s due around the same time that I am, in late July — claims pregnancy has blessed her with more than nausea and swollen ankles; she also has psychic powers now.
“Before I found out I was having a girl I dreamt that I was having a girl,” Ana, 38, revealed at the Point Honors gala in New York City Monday. “I even dreamt what her name was, so I guess that name should be her real name.”
Given that I dreamed that I gave birth to a 30-lb. talking baby, I really hope I do NOT have psychic powers.
Ana remained mum on the baby’s name –- very wise — except for laughing, “It’s going to be Watermelon.” No word on whether her daughter will be of the seedless variety.
Wait — I AM getting a premonition! I’m going to be hungry for a bowl of Frosted Flakes… and have to urinate every ten minutes… today…
Well, whaddya know? Check, and check!

With my first son, most of my dreams were that I somehow “missed” labor & delivery. I was watching TV, engrossed in a book, taking a nap…and then was really disappointed that I didn’t notice the whole thing. Needless to say, THAT didn’t happen. I noticed.
And I also dreamed that after my baby (we didn’t find out the gender ahead of time) was born, a nurse told me that I wouldn’t be allowed to take him/her home unless I could pick which baby was mine. She wheeled in a dim sum cart lined with little loaves of bread swaddled up in blankets. Luckily, I immediately recognized the cinnamon raisin loaf was my baby. And no, I didn’t give birth to a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread.
So apparently I was not blessed with pregnancy premonition powers either. Although I haven’t had any dreams yet this time (I’m due the same time you and Ana Ortiz are)…so maybe THIS is my chance to be psychic!

When I was pregnant I dreamt I gave birth to an Italian sub!! I must have been hungry that night.
